Program description
The Graduate Diploma in Safeguarding Minors and Vulnerable Adults聽offers an advanced specialization in the prevention, protection and care of minors and vulnerable adults from various forms of abuse.聽From an interdisciplinary perspective, students are provided the tools and resources necessary to understand the long-term聽consequences of this threat and the serious harm it causes survivors and communities. The program is intended for all those tasked with ensuring a safe environment, whether in the Church, social organizations, or in families. Optional courses in canon law and safeguarding may be pursued by those responsible for parishes, dioceses, religious institutes, ecclesiastical institutions of education聽and healthcare, and other similar bodies.
On completion of the Graduate Diploma in Safeguarding Minors and Vulnerable Adults, qualified students meeting admission requirements may apply for admission to the Master of Canon Law program and, on admission, complete the requirements of this program with credit granted for relevant courses already completed in the diploma.
