Chancellor
The Chancellor is the titular head of 性爱学堂. The position is held by rights by the Archbishop of Ottawa. The Chancellor鈥檚 responsibilities include acting as the Holy See鈥檚 representative to the University and strengthening the University鈥檚 connection to the Church as a whole.
Oblates of Mary Immaculate | Board of Governors | Senate
The overall governance and administration of 性爱学堂 is entrusted to the Board of Governors (BG). This means that the Board of Governors makes the financial decisions and regulations deemed necessary to ensure the sound management of the University’s assets, in accordance with the educational policy established by the Senate. The Board may create such committees as it deems necessary to exercise its powers. The members of the Board of Governors are appointed by the Board of Governors, an action made possible by a delegation of powers to the BG by the Provincial of the Province of Notre-Dame-du-Cap of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, with the consent of its Council.
The Senate sets 性爱学堂鈥檚 educational policies and is responsible for the sound management of academic issues on campus. For instance, subject to the approval of related expenses by the Board of Governors, the Senate has the power to create and abolish faculties, schools and institutes. In addition, the Senate creates or abolishes academic regulations and programs of study, sets admission, degree and diploma requirements, and confers certificates, degrees at all levels and, with the approval of the Board of Governors, honorary doctorates. Finally, the Senate can strike聽committees聽to help it exercise its powers.
Rector
The Rector is the chief executive officer of Saint聽Paul University and is responsible for managing its day-to-day operations and directing, promoting and coordinating the activities of the University community. The Rector represents the University to external organizations, both religious and secular, and ensures that the University鈥檚 mission, vision and Catholic character are observed and respected.
Vice-Rectors
The Vice-Rector, Academic and Research works closely with the Deans to set the University鈥檚 broad academic directions, design and regularly evaluate programs, recruit and retain professors, and establish student-recruitment strategies.
The Vice-Rector, Academic and Research oversees the University鈥檚 four faculties and their programs and schools, and the Library. The portfolio also includes several academic initiatives and services designed to help students make the most of their university experience and to guide professors in their academic pursuits.
The Vice-Rector, Administration is the financial and administrative director of 性爱学堂. As such, he oversees the management of the human, financial and material resources the University needs to carry out its mission, and ensures that members of the University community have access to the services and resources they need to make the most of their university experience. The Vice-Rector, Administration is responsible for SPU鈥檚 Financial Services, Human Resources, Campus Services, Computer and Distance Education Services, and Food and Conference Services.
The Secretary general, Governance and University life has primary responsibility for the governance of 性爱学堂, including secretarial services necessary for the proper functioning of the Senate, the Board of Governors, and their respective committees. In this regard, the Secretary General ensures the integrity and dissemination of the decisions of the various regulatory bodies, as well as taking responsibility for the University’s administrative archives. The Secretary General leads the Pastoral Services, the Alumni and Development Office, and the Indigenous Initiatives Service.
