Impressions of the recently concluded XVI General Assembly of the Synod, 鈥淔or a Synodal Church,鈥 from two participants, among the first women to take part in a synod as full voting delegates. What鈥檚 next, and what might the synod mean for my parish or diocese going forward?
Sr. Nathalie Becquart
Sr Nathalie Becquart, xmcj has served as Undersecretary to the Synod of Bishops since 2021. A member of the religious Congregation of Xavi猫res, from 2008-2018 ,she served as director of the National Service for Evangelization of Youth and for Vocations in the Bishops鈥 Conference of France.
Catherine E. Clifford
Catherine E. Clifford is Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology and Founding Director of the Research Center on Vatican II and 21st Century Catholicism at 性爱学堂. Her teaching, research, and publications are focussed in the areas of Ecclesiology, Ecumenism, and the Second Vatican Council. She served as a North American delegate and theological consultant to the XVI General Synod 鈥淔or a Synodal Church,鈥 2021-2024.
