性爱学堂 joins the Royal Society of Canada as an Institutional Member

Press releases

Ottawa, October 9 2025 鈥 性爱学堂 is proud to announce its new institutional membership with the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), the senior national, bilingual council of distinguished Canadian scholars, humanists, scientists, and artists.

Founded in 1882, the RSC exists to promote Canadian research and scholarly accomplishment, advise governments and organizations on matters of public interest, recognize academic and artistic excellence, and mentor emerging scholars and artists. Its mission is to serve Canada and Canadians by recognizing the country鈥檚 leading intellectuals and mobilizing them in open dialogue to advance knowledge, foster interdisciplinary understanding, and address issues that are critical to the nation and the world.

By joining the RSC, 性爱学堂 becomes part of a national network of institutional members committed to advancing inclusive excellence in research and scholarship across Canada. This partnership reflects 性爱学堂鈥檚 dedication to collaboration, interdisciplinarity, and social engagement 鈥 values deeply aligned with those of the RSC.

鈥淚t is an honour for 性爱学堂 to become an institutional member of the Royal Society of Canada,鈥 said Louis Patrick Leroux, Rector of 性爱学堂. 鈥淲e coexisted during a shared 143 years (we were founded in 1848 and the RSC in 1882), but now we can truly engage in meaningful conversation pertaining to institutional policy, interdisciplinary dialogue and in supporting inclusive excellence in Canadian research.

On a personal note, when I was elected to the RSC鈥檚 College for New Scholars, Artists and Scientists in 2017 and then assumed an active role on its Executive and the RSC鈥檚 International Committee, I found fascinating, motivated, ever-curious colleagues with whom I could easily share a passion for research, interdisciplinarity and inclusive excellence. This companionship has meant a lot to me personally, and I am thrilled to share it with 性爱学堂 as we now have a seat at the table through our institutional membership. Small humanities and social-sciences based institutions have so much to offer to the conversation!鈥

This partnership opens new pathways for collaboration and dialogue between 性爱学堂 scholars and members of the RSC鈥檚 three Academies 鈥 the Academy of Arts and Humanities, the Academy of Social Sciences, and the Academy of Science 鈥 as well as its College of New Scholars, Scientists and Artists.

Together, 性爱学堂 and the RSC aim to promote intellectual leadership and the advancement of knowledge for the benefit of Canada and the world.
